This book (Machine Made Patchworks) has been floating around the net for a while. It has some very cool pieces. I love the bright colours.

And the simple lines of this.

This may well be my favourite of the four books I bought: Simple Quilt. I'd never seen it before and don't think it's listed on any of the Japanese crafty book sites.

Everything in here is so clean and fresh and graphic.

Would love to make one of these cushions for my November-due niece/nephew (!! Rachael is pregnant again! This time the baby is in the right place ^-^), but how suitable is a white based textile for a little one? I know, I don't need to make it white, but it looks perfect just as it is here.

Those quilts are lovely. Is it just my imagination, or do they appear to be miniature sizes?
I think it might just be the way the photos look on the screen because they are full size in the book. Now that you say that though, they do look like miniatures!
I love the look of this book. Will you share the ISBN?
Greta, the ISBN for Machine Made Patchworks is 457911020X, and for Simple Quit is 4140311371
Have you seen Craftlog's Crafting Japanese book library? There are loads of inspiring books there!
Carolyne, Thanks for the isbn. I think I will order that book soon. I have seen Craftlog's Japanese book library. You know, I don't even remember how this need to own these books started but it did lead me there and several other places - including yours. I love seeing what everyone is creating. It amazes me how people who live sooo far apart can love the same stuff. Keep up the great work and I'll keep looking :)
Greta, It is a nice community, isn't it? Even if it is virtual, it's so great to find people who resonate with you.
Do you have a blog or journal or flickr account or something?
I just realised your name is an anagram of great. 'great Greta' sweet :)
Carolyne, I don't have a blog or anything yet but I've been thinking more and more that I would like to start one. I'll let you know what I come up with. About that anagram, I often make that mistake when the fingers are flying on the keyboard and I chuckle every time, but I don't let it go to my head:)
